G'Day A Bit About Me

G'Day
I am the Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Phoenix College. In the short term, for two years, I will be working on a specific large project, the NTIA CMC Boundless Broadband Grant.
My passion for education and innovation is at the heart of my role. I firmly believe that technology can profoundly enrich learning experiences, empowering our students to explore and expand their horizons—from local classrooms to the global marketplace.
With a rich history in educational technology spanning nearly 30 years in educational technology across Australia and the United States, I've had the honor of serving in various capacities within K-12 and higher education. My journey has included being on the residential faculty at the Hervey Bay Senior College in Australia for five years, teaching computer applications and networking. IT Director, CTO and CIO roles. Throughout these positions, I’ve led transformative teams and initiatives that have benefitted students and educators significantly.

My dedication to education extends beyond my professional work. I am pursuing a PhD in general psychology, learning, and technology at Grand Canyon University, aiming to blend theoretical insights with practical applications to drive positive change in educational settings and the development of conceptual models tackling the digital divide and the interdisciplinary facets of technology and education. I’ve presented internationally and in the US on topics ranging from IT Best Practices in K-12 Education to enterprise innovations in education, instructional pedagogies with technology, and open educational resources. Presented recently at CoSN, Educause, and ISTE. My academic background includes a master’s degree in technology management from the University of Denver and a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Colorado Christian University.
I am a father and husband to four children, two pre-teens and two teens. I coached a field hockey team of JV/Varsity girls for ten years and was previously a Level II Coach with USA Field Hockey. I have played sports off and on since I was 12 years old and still find it exciting to follow. Here is a Field Hockey Channel on YouTube, and I crochet, too; a sample creation is below.
Let’s make a difference together!
